Nacho needed a new table for his bowls, and I needed a project to do to take advantage of being around family members that have shops. This was made out of maple, mahogany, and steel pipes. I cut the holes with a plunging router, sanded down to 220 grit, and used five coats of gloss poly. Nacho approves.

Covid isolation project. This is made out of birch and oak plywood, aluminum siding, and steel pipes. I drew up the design from scratch. The top has a 1” drop from the back to the front that gives it a nice 4 degree slope for ergonomics.

As most projects go, this started as a simple idea that was to use only scrap wood. As I was working on it, I got more and more ideas and it evolved into quite a beast. I ended up satisfied, but it was so heavy and impractical that it turned out to be just a stepping stone for creating the pedestal table. To add some flare to project, I burned maps of Westeros, Middle Earth, and Houston.

We added a projector to the man cave / yoga room, so we had to find a new lighting solution. I built new fixtures that would be out of the way enough to not get in the way of the projector. We rerouted the existing wiring for ceiling fan to go to each spot and has the ability to be controlled by individual switches.

The whole house is basically an ongoing project of slowly replacing Ikea furniture with homemade pieces. For the desk we used a slab of cherry with hairpin legs. The shelves are cherry stained pine with steel pipe supports.
