Travelin’ Blues
Although Sarah and Jeff are on a world adventure, there are parts of the journey that are not so glamorous. In addition to feeling homesick, they share what “travelin’ blues” is to them. Some may take pleasure in this and think “Ah ha, I knew quitting their jobs isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be!” That’s right my friend, there is happiness in routines!
Good Bier, Good People, Good Times
Jeff and Sarah detour to Vienna, Austria before heading to Munich to reunite with their friends Rosa and Jon at Oktoberfest. They enjoy Viennese treats and stroll along the many winding and pretty sidewalks that Vienna has to offer. They head to Munich and spend much needed time with their friends from Houston and survive the splendid chaos of Oktoberfest. They marveled at nearby castles and palaces and found out that the “mad king” was really not all that mad and was just born at the wrong time with many enemies.
Coffee, Cigarettes, and Croatia
With the spicy cough behind them, Sarah and Jeff take a breath of fresh air and explore the country of Croatia. They fly into the beautiful coastal town of Dubrovnik and check out some Game of Thrones sites. They take a ferry to Split and get lost in the ancient windy streets. They then journey to Zagreb where they get a two week stay and indulge in the Croatian lifestyle!
The Misadventures of Jeff and Sarah
The spicy cough attacks Jeff and Sarah! They end up in Athens much longer than anticipated and deal with unexpected issues as the days drag on…
Shamrocks and Olive Oil
Jeff and Sarah circle Ireland seeing as much as they can before a change of pace. They end up back in Dublin to dog sit a lovely puppy named Bruce for an awesome and generous couple for a week. They then hop over to the Greek island of Santorini and enjoy the islander (more touristy) lifestyle until things take an unfortunate turn.
Bridging the Gap Between Whisky and Whiskey
We said our farewells to Scotland who we love dearly now and made the most out of our last days there. Our discouraging introduction to Dublin was remedied by a walk in the woods in Belfast, and we walked along the famous steps “created” by Finn McCool.
The UK and Ireland vs Houston, TX
Tune in as two heavy weights go head-to-head in a no holds barred, knock down drag out fight! We do an in-depth analysis of the areas’ public transportation, weather, driving, scenery, dining, and pubs/bars to see who will hold the title of cool places to be in the summer of 2022.
Meandering Across Scotland
Eating our way through Scotland with haggis, black pudding, smoked salmon, and pickled herring…. The haggis wasn’t half bad! Also celebrating a birthday, meeting lovely (hilarious) people, and hiking in the cold, wet, windy, and briefly sunny highlands.
Jet Lag and Scones that Make you Cry
We made it to Europe! After some jet lag recovery, we were ready to explore England.
The Mile High City
Enjoying time in Denver before we head to London. We appreciated the rest and hikes more than we anticipated!
Adios Tejas and Prelude
Leaving Texas was tougher than we thought. We are extremely lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.
